Icon Information Mount Ararat is a dormant volcanic mountain located in eastern Turkey. It is the highest mountain in the country, with a summit elevation of 5,137 meters (16,854 feet). It is also considered a sacared mountain in Armenian culture and is believed by some to be the final resting place of Noah`s Ark from the biblical story of the great flood.
