To monitor the impacts of drought in this department, SPOT data is now available in Open Data format. This Open Data program was initiated by Airbus and Dinamis following a call from the local authorities of the Pyrénées-Orientales department to develop their department. The aim is to develop the area as a drought management testing ground in France. The entire territory has been monitored monthly since May 2023 and the SPOT satellite imagery is available free of charge.
