On Saturday 19th May 2018, we acquired the Royal Wedding procession route through Windsor, UK. 

Over 100,000 people from across the world lined the procession route and gathering crowds can be seen in this acquisition by Pléiades, taken at 11.32am local time.

Following the ceremony, a horse-drawn carriage took Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle through the town and along the tree-lined Long Walk in Windsor Great Park.

Within hours of capture, and following the successful download, processing, and delivery, this acquisition was circulated with international Media. Pléiades is an optical satellite constellation offering a true daily revisit capability that allows our customers to precisely request an acquisition on a specific date. At 50cm resolution, the constellation was the perfect solution to handle the OneDay tasking request and deliver a beautiful image of this historic Royal event.
