Women day at Airbus Intelligence

Celebrating Women in Airbus

Celebrating Women in Airbus

Historically, men have dominated the aerospace industry - yet each generation of women successfully reduce the barriers, opening the field to more of their gender, accessing previously unavailable careers and gaining recognition for their contributions.
More are joining the industry every year and Airbus is at the forefront of advancing women in the workplace and developing female talent, helping to redefine the future of aerospace within the company and across the industry through partnerships and other initiatives.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, read inspiring stories from women at Airbus.

Fort Collines, Colorado “As a manager, my intent has always been to bring out the best in the people who report to me - to do whatever I can to make them feel supported, and to feel that I am invested in their success. I want them to know that I am ‘in their corner’. It is my belief that as managers, the most valuable thing we can do for the business is to contribute to the retention of smart, capable people and having those strong supportive connections with colleagues makes our work a lot more fun.”

Chantilly, Viginia “I’ve learned that it’s good to be open about work that is challenging or stressful. I’m part of a great team and we are more than willing to support each other. I don’t think I would be as successful if I didn’t have a level of empathy toward clients and toward my colleagues.”

Toulouse, France “I always wanted to work in an international environment and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity of working in the geospatial industry. We deal with many diverse people around the world, this is professionally and personally very valuable. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry and a marketer in a technical field can be very challenging sometimes but everything is possible for those who dream, dare, work and never give up! Marketing Pléiades Neo is very intense, but it is also exciting and rewarding to be in charge of this high profile, state-of-the-art 30cm resolution satellite constellation.”
