SAFEcommand has always leaned heavily on user feedback and suggestions to shape the development of new releases. Over the last few years we have taken this further by establishing working groups that can directly influence what will be developed in upcoming releases. For those not already involved, I would like to remind you of this process and how to take part.

Currently we have a working group consisting of representatives from 8+ Fire and Rescue Services who are invited to help prioritise the product roadmap and help define the detail on the top priority roadmap requests. By joining the working group, you will need to give some of your time. Below are the typical working group activities.

  1. Attend a WebEx/conference call meeting approximately once every 2 months for 1-3 hours.
  2. 2-3 times a year assess the priority of features on product roadmaps by allocating a priority scores.
  3. Respond to ad hoc requests for information about how particular SAFEcommand features are used or how you would want a new feature to work.

This is just indicative of the kind of things we would expect of you and we understand that not everyone can contribute every single time.

We are currently focussed on a major ScCourier development and will be moving on to ScGateway and more ScResponse work later in the year. We are also setting up smaller focused working groups for Incident Command and ScGuide. If you would like to be involved in any of these working groups please contact John Freeman to discuss further.

Even if you do not want to be part of the group but have suggestions or requirements that you would like to see in the products please do get in touch by logging a call with the service desk, we can then discuss and add your request to the roadmap for discussion within the working group sessions.
