Airbus Defence and Space and IHS Jane’s have partnered to create a unique offer combining accurate satellite imagery with daily insight and analysis to deliver a powerful geographical intelligence tool focused on countries of conflict and high risk.

Airbus delivers the smartest constellation combining radar and optical satellites, wide coverage 1.5m resolution satellite imagery across whole countries with a 50cm resolution focused on areas of interest such as bases, conflict zones and populated areas.

IHS Jane’s global team of experts deliver geospatial layers identifying military bases, military capability data, news, image analysis and terrorism events. The solution will also utilise IHS Jane’s equipment specifications data to help with the identification of platforms on the ground


Airbus has created blanket ortho-rectified colour imagery mosaics over key areas of interest, locally enriched with high resolution images over the densest, most critical zones including city centres, airports and military installations.

IHS Jane’s has been using imagery from Airbus  for over two years, breaking significant news stories on a second Russian base in Syria, pdf new developments in North Korea’s nuclear programme as well as pdf Island building in the South China Sea . This new product furthers the IHS and Airbus partnership and gives users access to industryleading tools.

For the first time, users are able to navigate to a region of conflict or instability and view high resolution satellite imagery combined with key content such as military installations, terrorist activity, country profiles and the latest security insight mapped across each area.

Conflict Atlas allows you to build up a detailed picture of events in volatile regions to increase your situational awareness and ability to anticipate and respond to threats.

SPOT 6/7 (1.5m resolution)

The SPOT 6 & 7 constellation is specifically designed to efficiently cover huge areas in record time. National basemap series are now updated to support large-scale cartographic and land monitoring applications.

Pléiades (50cm resolution)

Pléiades 1A and Pléiades 1B operate as a constellation in the same orbit, phased 180° apart. The identical twin satellites deliver very-high-resolution optical data products with an unrivalled reliability when it comes to collecting a new image.
