WorldDEM™ of Romania, River Jiu
The image shows an area in the North of Craiova. The city is Romania's 6th largest city and capital of Dolj County, situated near the east bank of the river Jiu in central Oltenia. The river Jiu flows southward through the Romanian counties Hunedoara, Gorj and Dolj before flowing into the Danube river. The WorldDEM DTM is derived from the WorldDEM™ by removing vegetation and man-made objects to show the bare terrain of the Earth’s surface.
WorldDEM™ of Brazil, Alagoas
Alagoas is one of the 27 states of Brazil and is situated in the eastern part of the Northeast Region. It occupies an area of 27,767 km². Alagoas has a tropical coastline of palm-lined, white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and coral reefs. Maceió, its capital, is home to the popular Pajuçara and Ponta Verde beaches. Coral reefs fringe the coastline north of Maceió, earning it the nickname Costa dos Corais (Coral Coast). The WorldDEM DTM is derived from the WorldDEM™ by removing vegetation and man-made objects to show the bare terrain of the Earth’s surface. As the DTM product is based on the high-resolution WorldDEM a uniquely high level of detail and accuracy is ensured.

Germany’s capital dates to the 13th century. Located in northeastern Germany on the banks of the rivers Spree and Havel, around one-third of the city's area is composed of forests, parks, gardens, rivers, canals and lakes. Berlin is a world city of culture, politics, media and science, home to world renowned universities, orchestras, museums, entertainment venues, and is host to many sporting events.
São Nicolau is one of the Barlavento islands of Cape Verde. It is located between the islands of Santa Luzia and Sal. Its population is 12,769, with an area of 388 km². Much of the population is rural. The flat areas and hills dominate most of the coastline and the central part. The highest point on the island is Monte Gordo (1,312 m) which is of volcanic origin.
The image covers an area above the Northern polar circle in Finnmark county, Norway. The 8-kilometre Kåfjorden is a branch off the main Lyngen fjord.
Brazil, Rio de Janeiro
The image shows the Copacabana district, located in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is known for its 4 km balneario beach, which is one of the most famous in the world. You can also see Sugarloaf Mountain, a peak situated at the mouth of Guanabara Bay on a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Rising 396 meters above the harbor, it is known worldwide for its cableway and panoramic views of the city.
