Discover Stack Insight, the new, revolutionary remote volume calculation and surveying tool
We are excited to announce the launch of Stack Insight, an exciting, new service that makes volume calculations easier, cheaper and more accurate. Launching next month, Stack Insight will be the most advanced, satellite-based change detection and volume calculation service on the market, eliminating much of the cost and all the risk associated with on-site surveying, whilst providing a high level of accuracy through the utilization of the latest satellite technology.
Specifically developed for mining and civil engineering applications, the service can be used to remotely calculate extracted volumes, including piles and stacks of mined material. In addition it has the capability to assess changing volumes. Stack Insight utilizes Airbus Defence and Space’s very high-resolution 50cm imagery products from its optical Pléiades constellation, which offers high flexibility and up to daily revisit capabilities of any area around the world.
The service can be compared to the accuracy of LIDAR technologies, whilst offering the major advantage that expensive equipment or experts aren’t required on site. With some initial studies demonstrating an error-rate of less than 2%, Stack Insight is a very accurate mine and civil engineering monitoring tool, especially when compared with ground surveying and land surveying techniques. Stack Insight’s automatically derived results of structural, ground and water body changes or other surface changes are provided in a user-friendly report to match the required frequency of data collection.
