SPOT 6 heading for IndiaAugust 2012
SPOT 6 flies out to India on Wednesday 1 August aboard an Air France Boeing 747 freighter aircraft, arriving the next day at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, where it will be mated with the PSLV launcher set to loft it into orbit.
At the end of July, the SPOT 6 satellite was boxed inside its transport container. First, a crane hoisted the satellite onto the container base, to which it was fastened. The container cover was then hoisted over the satellite and secured to the base.
