Euro 2012 - The Stadiums in Poland and Ukraine viewed by Pléiades and TerraSAR-X

For the 14th UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2012), the Pléiades satellite operated by Astrium presents the brand new National Stadium in Warsaw, where the opening match will be played on 8 June, and the Olympic Stadium in Kiev that will host the final on 1 July.

The Pléiades 1A satellite has been imaging Earth since 17 December 2011, generating 50-cm-resolution products perfectly suited to precision mapping and photo-interpretation.

TerraSAR-X has been observing the construction of the EURO 2012 stadium in Gdansk, Poland. Between August 2009 and May 2012 the satellite recorded 9 acquisitions of the building site which show the progress of the work on the stadium and the surrounding area.
