Pléiades en route for French Guiana
Pléiades 1 has departed for Kourou aboard a Boeing aircraft in readiness to launch on the second Soyuz flight from the Guiana Space Centre.
Pléiades on the plane
3 November, the Pléiades 1 satellite took off aboard an Air France Boeing 747 freighter for Kourou to join the 4 ELISA satellites and the SSOT satellite built by Astrium for the Chilean government.
Pléiades 1 and its companions launch together on the second Soyuz flight from the Guiana Space Centre on 16 December.
Pléiades stowed in its container
Late October, the Pléiades satellite was stowed inside its container. A crane hoisted the satellite onto the container floor, to which it was attached. The container itself was then hoisted on top of the satellite and also fixed to the floor.
