GEO Innovation Community

The GEO Innovation Community offers opportunities to assess the usability and relevancy of Airbus Defence and Space imagery products for your applications supporting innovative Earth Observation projects. Following the great success of the "Pléiades Users Group", created in September 2012, today we are very pleased to announce a new call for projects with SPOT 6 imagery products.

Submission period is open from now until October 31st, 2013.

Airbus Defence and Space will provide SPOT 6 products free of charge for all selected projects. In return, users will be part of the GEO Innovation Community and able to access the dedicated web portal MyGIC.

  • Presenting and sharing results of on-going projects
  • Consulting and discussing content of the projects
  • Collecting news and events announcements related to the GIC

Who can submit a project?

The GEO Innovation Community is open to any companies, academic and scientific institutions worldwide.

How to submit a project?

Download the form available in this page and fill it in with as many details as possible about the project. Then, send the form to MyGIC@astrium-geo.com together with a kml/kmz file to describe the area of interest.

Project selection:

The GIC scientific committee assesses all the project proposals and rates them according to a set of criteria, such as:

  • Are methodology or tools innovative?
  • What is the application behind?
  • Is the project user-driven?
  • Does the project support climate change issues?

The 60 projects with the highest score will be selected and candidates informed within a few weeks after submission.

See you soon on MyGIC!
